Wow. Two times the Zephyr Cove pickups. And that prop!
@Duribe09 - what skiff is that on?
Interesting prop. Unless my eyes are deceiving me, it looks like stacked props instead of dual props that counter-rotate.
Found it.
Surface drive prop for your skiff!
ECB 17X Protos Series
What brand Jack Plate?
@Smackdaddy53
Mac
Why two pickups?
Hull Marine
Don’t think so unless it’s just for show…HMP is still field testing with mixed results.
@Smackdaddy53 will hopefully confirm for us. The aluminum frame design matches HMP, but also, the instgram post has them tagged.
I was on the initial wait list for them, so I’d love to finally see Tyler get them to market.
Me too👍
I had the first version of HMP. Worked well for the time that I had it, but it moved along with my skiff. I wanted another one on my new skiff, but production schedule of the plate was not the same as the boat. Hopefully @HMP is up and running soon.
It’s a Hull Marine plate
Because the 60R is an odd duck that needs dual systems to supply enough water to cool efficiently.
This is a prototype HPP that I have been testing the last few weeks on my 70TLRZ and it happened to be the correct prop to test first on this skiff and I happened to be driving to Florida to do my work on this skiff so it was the prop I installed for ICAST. Danny any I will be testing everything in a few weeks. Please don’t call HPP and beg for a prop for a 60-70hp because you won’t get one yet. They are still in testing phase and HPP and I will be testing and getting these set up for production once we figure out what prop works best on each outboard. They began with large horsepower and have been working down to these smaller props for a few years. These are the props I told you guys about years ago on the forum of which we do not speak. I will be the small horsepower/ skiff guy for HPP. It just seemed fitting so we are working together. Yes they are badass, yes you get half a boat length hole shot, yes they cost you 2-3 mph (I only lost 1mph on my skiff), yes they allow single digit planing speeds, yes they have EXCELLENT reverse in both directions unlike super custom cupped props and yes they are patented and expensive. I like to push limits, this is one variable in the equation to do just that!
There’s a lot more to the story, Tyler is working on it and I’m doing what I can to promote his awesome jackplate. I don’t want anyone thinking they got bypassed. No one got cut out of their actuator, we located a couple that were floating around a boat shop for a couple of years and I drove a LONG way to get them and make this happen. It is a long story for another time!
All good. I spoke with Tyler several times in length. Hopefully by the time he’s up and running with production, Yamaha will release a 70 HP SHO and I’ll just re-power with that and a HMP plate.
Will you guys have this setup battle tested and fine tuned for the ICAST show?
