The GF picked her up some at Ollie’s for $19.99. No idea how their supply or choice of sizes was.
I do not understand these boots and their wild popularity. I never wear close toed footwear on a boat, not even in winter. Seems like especially in summer you would get a case of swamp foot being closed up in a rubber boot all day or it would suck getting water inside them. Tell me what I’m missing guys.
I’m not sure either. If you went into the drink with those on , good luck. I wear mine out in the horse stalls.
That’s a good deal.
Huk came out with that style boot many years ago, and anybody that spent their day on a wet floored boat loved them. Especially the white ones because they are so much cooler to wear in the sun. The low rise and open top was easy to put on and take off. Plus they were vented enough that your feet didn’t sweat. I wore mine to Colorado in January, and they worked great in the snow too.
However they don’t give that great an arch support, and don’t last long with daily use. So numerous clones came out, and XtraTuf became the next favorite. Now there are more shorty rubber boot brands than there are sunglasses.
I’ve heard them called Delcambre Reeboks where there are lots of shrimp boats.
Plus Homosassa Hushpuppies and other comical names too.
I’d buy a a pair if I could find my size in a light color. Thanks for posting.
That’s a good deal. I think I paid $100 for mine. Love them for the winter time here in NC.
Mayport Jordan’s up here in Jax
I have two pairs…I like them in summer and winter…always wear my compression stockings and they slide right on…
I like them because many times I need to launch with the need to step a bit in the water at the ramp…usually just over the toe and it allows me to stay dray..

I don’t wear them on a flats skiff. I do wear them when offshore fishing. What you don’t want is a wahoo going apeshit on the deck with your foot anywhere near it in flip-flops.
They give a level of protection to your tootsies. hooks, fish spines, fish teeth, people dropping heavy crap on your feet on the back of a boat. And more stability in rough seas on wet decks with mayhem going on.
They are great till the toes split
I can see em for the offshore crowd but otherwise I don’t get it. Good price though.
Everglades Fishing Co (EFG), the owner, Jimmy claims his are the best made. He runs specials on Facebook nd Instagram…
I"ve had my XTRA’s for 5 plus years on my first pair and picked up another on an AMAZON prime day deep discount event.
I will tell ya’ll, these boot with a Grunden’s overalls will keep you toast when the weather drops below 60 degrees and you are running in the backcountry.

I think people think too into it. I wear them when it gets too cold for flip flops. They’re just shoes. I haven’t ever noticed them on my feet any more than I would notice other shoes, except if it’s flip flop weather or you wade in them (which I would strongly recommend against). Mine have lasted me about a year so far and are still going strong. For the price and the amount of times I’ve been glad I had them, I’d say it’s a fair trade.
I use them when I fish the mangroves at Ding from the road, they keep the little basturds off my ankles and I can stand in front of mangroves with them. Very handy, for side road mangrove fishing!
