Vertical Rod Racks

Looking for a good quality vertical wall rack for conventional rod storage in the garage. Most of what I see online looks like cheap plastic with foam inserts for upper part of the rack. Anyone have any issues with the foam rotting or plastic cracking over time?

These are solid without any foam for suspending combos.

You could also get a couple racks with the slotted tubes that mount on the side of consoles then you wouldn’t need anything at the top.

Build your own. Pictures are old but I helped my son build a rod rack for his rods. Still uses it to this day.

Can’t find the original website I got the plans but this is basically the same thing.

I like it, this might be the way to go…

There’s a guy up in New England who makes some really nice rod racks (fly and conventional). Ive had a couple of his fly rod racks for years, and just recently received a vertical rack for spinning gear. High quality stuff- will paint/stain/size the rack to whatever your needs are. Not the most cost effective option out there, but the type of things that i will hand down to my sons. His name is David Anderson, and his company is niceflyrodracks.com. Ill see if i can figure out how to attach a pice of the vertical holder i just got.

Inlaid hardwood slides to secure the rods

I don’t think this is exactly what you’re looking for but I have one of these for probably 5 years with 0 issues.

I’d build your own! The first thing I did when I bought my house was redo the garage, part of which was building a 50 rod wraparound wall rod rack, plus a fly rod rack. These photos are older, so it isn’t full in them.

In my garage I wall mounted these Kast King racks. They actually work pretty good, without taking up a lot of space and they are definitely affordable.

Then for Xmas one year I received one of these racks. Light weight and functional, also easily DIYd if you chose to go that route.

For my Fly Rods I hang them horizontally. I just used some screws along the shelving that was already in place, and covered them with heat shrink so it doesn’t scratch em up.

I have the DuBro ones that @Zika posted but I have them roof mounted. I like them a lot. Actually need to order some more since I got into fly fishing, I’ve run out of room for my spin and casting gear :innocent:

Oh dude, you should see it now with it full! Haha. Plus the fly rod rack only holds 8 rods, which is exactly half as many fly rods as I have.

I also use the Kast King racks that @MikeCockman mentioned, and they are great.
