I am looking to get a vice to leave at the place we stay at from time to time.
Here at home I have a dyna king barracuda. I love it, but don’t want to spend that much on one just to have when we are there for the short amount of time we get to go down. The renzetti traveler models are more in what I’d prefer to spend.
Can you give me a run down on them? I know they don’t have the grooves in the jaw like the dyna king, but I assume they cam down in the hook?
What is the green rubber band looking piece for? Do you have to replace them often?
It will mostly be for size 6-2/0 bonefish to tarpon ties.

Renzetti traveler is what I tie on when on Long Island. I’ve tied hundreds of fleyes from 6-6/0 on that vise.
Can you fill me in on the rubber band looking thing-is that something that has to be replaced or does it last a while?
I know they’re popular, and everyone and their brother has one, just haven’t put my eyes on one in person.
The o-ring on the jaws should last years before needing to be replaced depending on how much you tie. A pack of replacements is like $10 for 5 if you did have to replace it.

It’s a great vice, will serve you well, I’m a Dyna King guy, but the traveler is a solid vice. Would definitely recommend it, I’ve tied plenty on it, no complaints. The little grommet does its job, easy to replace as well.
I picked up my Dyna King off EBay for a damn fair price. Might be worth looking there for something you are more familiar with.
The Traveler does have a strong reputation though.

Traveler all the way. Had one for years and it’s still just as good as day 1.
If you’re really looking for a vice drinking has been my go-to since fentanyl risk ruined recreational cocaine.
