@MaverickMA Oh man, I completely missed the notification from being tagged in this post a few weeks ago! That was a beautiful day on the water. It was a pleasure meeting you as well. Love those master anglers. Definitely keep me posted on the meet up. I enjoy meeting other anglers and would love to come out if I’m free!

Will do, contemplating a trip up to Oriental for bull drum season - the fam and I are renting a house on the water up there for half a week the first week of Sept and I am trying to figure a way to extend it the rest of the week. I will tag you if I decide to put the option out there.
A coworker was just telling me that they enjoyed it there. Yall will have a fun time with the bull drum. I’m hoping to ride up that way with a friend this year if we get some decent weather.
Where in Oriental do you stay? Where do you put in? My wife and I are thinking of doing the same thing you mentioned…
We booked a rental through beth fraizier and associates (cheaper than VRBO). The ramp is not far away and we keep the boat in the water (brackish, so growth is not a problem for a week).
Not sure how familiar you are with the area, but if you dont know the area and can swing it, book a guide the first day. There are virtually no hazards navigating but there is an unbelievable amount of water and the old adage that 90%of the fish are in 10% of the water holds true.
