New Yamaha f25 - NMEA2000 - Simrad Cable- Work?

I picked up a nice shiny new f25 for my homebuilt skiff.

Anyone have any experience hooking it up to a nmea2000 network? Yamaha interweb says the the nmea2000-simrad connection cable works on f50’s or larger.

I did some internet digging and found a couple random threads and it seems it the simrad-yamaha cable works as well on the f25, you just dont get all the information you would from its bigger brothers.

im just looking to get RPM’s, engine temp, and engine hours displayed on my simrad go…

anyone have any experience with the simrad-yamaha cable on a smaller engine like an f25/f30.

Can’t answer your question, David, but I moved this to the E&E forum so hopefully that will generate more views and some responses.

Congrats on the new OB.

for anyone who is wondering, the normal yamaha to lowrance/simrad cable works great, even though most websites state that is only support in an f50 engine or higher.

got my RPMS, engine temp, and engine hours displayed on my simrad!

i also just grabbed a $30 cable from amazon. works great! I wasn’t paying $100 for the simrad cable. the engine itself has a built in gateway, so its literally just a wire with the correct 4 pin connector on one end, and a nmea2000 connection on the other.

time to break in the new engine!

I wear the lanyard, but I tuck the remote in my shirt pocket. You might have guessed I have a smaller remote. I don’t like the weight of the remote hanging on my neck, so I stick it in my shirt pocket.
