Kipawa Trolling Motor Prop

Any feed back on these? I’m due for a new prop and MK sure don’t make them like they used to. Only one season and the factory 2 blade is trashed. 3 blades has got to better than 2, right???

I got one because I was trying to quiet down a 2012 MK Riptide 24V. I don’t notice any difference in noise or vibration. If there is a difference in performance/efficiency - I’m not sure, not a big enough difference for me to notice. It’s tough enough, but so was the old MK 2 blade.

I have not used that brand, but it reminded me of this product that was designed reduce noise:

I believe some posts from the ex-site stated they had good results with it.

The new riptide I got last year came with the 2 blade power prop. Way thinner and chips easier than my last motor’s prop. The 3 blade design of the Kipawa looks like it would glance off oysters and such instead of beating them up like the factory 2 blade.

I’ll have to look and see if that is compatible with the Kipawa.

I remember that older thread on the improved prop nut, but some said it had a tendency to corrode onto the threads, so regularly taking it off and greasing became a maintenance chore. Might be worth it ..

I have the Kipwa and like it. I tried the nut which helped but the MK prop was chipped and it vibrated. So far so good with the new prop.

I switched to a three-blade prop and it seemed to be a little quieter. I also went with a knock-off prop nut from Amazon. That seemed to help also. Haven’t noticed any extra corrosion. But I pull mine regularly to check for line and re-grease.

Both were cheaper than a Power Pole Move, which isn’t available yet in 12-volt system.

I think that’s the way I’m going to go. 3 blade and a cone thingy. I’ll be the coolest dude stranded on a sand bar!! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I used one on my trolling motor powered kayak. I didn’t notice any difference.
