I delivered a boat from Miami to Nassau on Saturday.
Flying back from Nassau to Fll a kid behind me when walking of the plane asked me if that was an I Dawia bag I had and if I fish. I said yes. He said that he also fishes as well. And then we kept walking, but when I was waiting for my ride I saw him getting into an uber with his family with a collapsible fishing rod sticking out of his bag. The situation was a bit rushed as both of our rides were waiting on us. I asked them if they were in town to fish, they said they were here for tarpon. I asked who they booked for a guide but they did not know and it was through Fishing booker or some kind of referral sight like that. I said if they go to Skiff HQ to find me, my last name is Beers and send me a message that I would take them out. Not as a guide but just to take a kid and his father fishing.
I’m always happy to take ppl fishing and show them the waters in Biscayne Bay/ENP.
Put the post on here just incase they checked out the forum to make easier to find me.

That’s very kind of you. If I get to Miami I’ll let you know and we can chase Permit or Tarpon

Bobby, great to meet you and Jax, sorry we weren’t able to catch a tarpon, but at least we did see some, and landed a snook and a few other species.
Next time you guys are headed down give me a heads up and I will see what I can do to put you on that tarpon and make the run to ENP.
Note Skiff HQ is a great resource with a heavy consolidated of knowledge.

For the members on here, the quick recap is as follows:
We met at Matheson at 3:30 PM.
Heavy east wind, lots of seaweed, dirty water. We worked some inland/residential canals, basically to just escape from the wind.
We targeted some areas that I’ve seen snook and Tarpon but only saw two tarpon roll on the surface and a few on the sidescan in one area with the other three areas being void of fish. We landed one snook and a few Jack, but nothing to write home about.
We saw plenty of bait fish, but nothing was working them. We were fishing these areas during an incoming tide. We stayed working these areas to sundown and the end of high tide. On tide shift, we poked around a few dock lights and found very aggressive Jack working over shrimp that were attracted to the light.
When tide started moving out and night was upon us, we braved the bay chop and made our way to the bridges.
We saw plenty of actively feeding tarpon on shrimp. I tried to match the hatch and threw a mix of DOA shrimp and NLBN. The Tarpon were simply not eating lures. The water was pretty dirty and full of seaweed.
I would’ve preferred to work the outside of some bridges, on an outgoing, but but the east wind was rather challenging and the chop was rough.
After a while of this, I switched one of the rods over to a flare hawk to see if it made a difference, but just couldn’t get any tarpon to commit. That’s Fishing I guess.
