Great build history with pictures, awesome share. Just a FYI moved to the correct section. ‘Homebrew’ is for plan-built skiff.
Thanks for sharing. I have a soft spot for pangas and I love the shot of your boy in the shop!
Beautiful build. Thats a clean Panga. I bet your wife is happy its done Now off to the next project.
Great skill thanks for sharing
Got my removable livewell mostly functional this past week. Livewell is about 18 gallons. I designed it so I can use it as a pressurized livewell for peak bait condition, but it can also be used with a standpipe drain or a bubbler without much work. All the fittings thst attach to the boats plumbing use flowrite’s quick connect hose fittings.
The livewell bucket was made using a clear plastic storage tote that I used as a male disposable mold. I didn’t get my gelcoat quite thick enough in some areas which caused some alligatoring/distortion of the gelcoat/glass but it’s functional. Since is goal was to keep it as light as possible the bucket was made partially from carbon fiber. I just need to install the hatch gutter drains/compression latch and I can test the pressurized functionality.
Next it got its carbon fiber layup to increase the strength which was one layer of 9oz 12k/3k warp carbon, and the other was standard 5.7 oz 3k twill. It will get a final layer of 4oz e glass cloth with ve resin to create a tie coat to the epoxy/carbon fiber so I can gelcoat it.
Glad you moved this over. Great Build
All bonded together with thickened epoxy and bottom drain, adjustable outflow(for the pressurized functionality), and spray nozzle.i haven’t put it on a scale but I would guess about 12-15 lbs. it’s about on par with how much I wanted it to weigh at a maximum, it’s more bulky than anything. It’s about 8-10 lbs lighter than the water soaked maverick jumpseat cooler that I scavenged the lid and hatch flange from.
