Thanks for the tip Capt. I’ve been blessed so far (69yo) and never had a stone. I like cinnamon so I may try your recipe. I do have a minor cholesterol problem, bad cholesterol is in the OK range, good cholesterol needs to be better.
Thought I’d follow up here with a potential “cure” for those suffering from this -
I finally got in to see a chiropractor today for a separate shoulder issue I’ve been having. I mentioned my ongoing flyfishing elbow. He immediately laughed and said his uncle fly fished and frequently had the same issue, then to my surprise, said he fixes his uncles all the time.
He grabbed my forearm and applied really hard pressure with this thumb on the tendon right at my elbow, then moved my hand up and down a few times. It lit me up! Then he moved his thumb further down the tendon, hard pressure again and again moved my hand up and down again. Hurt like a son-of-a-#$%^&! He repeated this two or three more times down the tendon towards my hand.
When he went back to the first spot to repeat the entire thing, I almost stopped him because the pain was bad enough I wasn’t sure I wanted another round. To my amazement, the second time there was virtually no pain at all. Same pressure all the way down the arm, no pain.
When I moved my hand/elbow afterwards in the same way that normall hurts like hell, it didn’t hurt at all. He showed me how to do it myself.
Hoping to test it out with a flyrod this week and will report back, but dang, it feels better than it has in a month!
Dang, I’ve been trying these exercised in the videos and some of them hurt like hell. But I’m not better yet. Hope you’re cured…

I have been using some of the exercises in that video with very good results. I think I may be pain free in a few weeks. Hard for my mind to grasp that making the painful area hurt during an exercise has actually been making it better….lol
@vero.waterman - it’s funny you say that - that’s exactly my reaction. This is basically what the chiro did to me - notice how hard he digs that thumb into that poor girls arm - imagine that tendon being lit up . . .
Then, afterwards? No pain. crazy.
I tore my bicep at 10 am on day one of my week long trip to ESB Mexico, casting a big rod in very heavy winds at permit. It has been 7.5 months. Still not 100%. As my dad says, “Gettin’ old ain’t for pv$$!3$.”
So how did it turn out? Did it work? Or only temporary?

Definitely way better. Not temporary but not completely gone either. I think another adjustment would knock it pit but i could definitely flyfish at this point if it werent for the fricken hurricane on our coast right now!
I started having close to the same elbow problem about 5 years ago. Mine only bothered me when I was fighting a big red fish and not when I was casting a fly rod. I fish Louisiana so we run into 37-45” redfish pretty often so it was a problem. I have had 3 shots in my elbow over the last five years and they help for about 6-9 months or so but the small elbow brace you wear around the top of your forearm help a good bit as well. You can get them at Walgreens, Walmart or Amazon, I have a few different braces and they all work some are more comfortable than others. I leave one in the skiff at all times. Hope this helps.

I have over 20 hrs casting just my short rods. There’s nothing I can do with my 9’ers that I can’t do with the shorter rods in fact there are some things they do better than the 9s. The most benefit realized from the shorts is ease of casting. Not that 9’s aren’t easy but if I spend two 5-6 hr days painting mangroves with 9s, my shoulder feels it. I’m no expert but I have pretty good form/technique so I can attest to the fact that these shorter rods are easier on the joints, very impressive. If you’re experiencing issues with elbows or shoulders, try a short rod.
