Fly fishing elbow?

LMNT is chocked full of maltodextrin even though it doesn’t list it on the ingredients. Even the unflavored LMNT.

Have to know exactly how to wear this brace. I was doing it wrong and was corrected by my ortho. The brace goes about 2” in front of the painful area. You are basically moving the part of the tendon under tension to that point…away from the actual tendon/bone interface.

I’m going to have to look into that as I trust Robb Wolf and the crew there.

These days we need to be vigilant and research everything for ourselves.

Tendons connect muscles to bones. Tennis and golfer’s elbow are an overuse condition, but the underlying reason primarily come from ramping activity at a pace that the muscle cannot support. Strengthening the muscles that attach to tendons takes the load off the tendon.

Sustained overuse can result in tears, yes, but typically it is from doing a motion that the body is not used to. A retiree picking up tennis and golf is a good example - they didn’t play 3 times a week their entire life, but now want to. Or someone starting an exercise routine and going too hard too fast. It’s always better to ease into things and give the body a chance to build the core strengths.

Prolotherapy and PRP do work, but are pricey and effective only if the underlying issue makes sense to use it. But without strengthening around the tissue, it’s just a bandaid. I did extreme sports for half of my life and am pretty sure I helped pay for half of the sports car my regenerative medicine doctor drives.

I just learned a couple of weeks ago that I have developed a sensitivity to artificial sweeteners. It’s getting to be a danged if you do, danged if you don’t type deal. I’m quitting sodas and carbonated drinks, Gatorade and Powerade have tons of sugar and sodium, Zero cal drinks have artificial sweeteners and sodium…so, water it is! I’ve been drinking unsweet tea, and using only natural sweeteners. Honey in coffee ain’t too bad.

Local raw honey is the best sweetener you can use. It’s still a form of sugar but at least it’s not processed. I mentioned this earlier about electrolytes…the purest you can get is this stuff. I drink two doses a day.

I only drink well water, Hi-Lyte, local raw A2 jersey milk and Blackout coffee for about two years, zero alcohol since 2018 and no sugar in well over five years. I eat a spoon of local raw honey about 3-4 days a week and eat mainly animal products. It’s been the best thing I ever did for my health. I dropped about forty pounds in the last two years and have been working on getting shredded. I’m at my high school weight right now at 43 and never felt better. I know people get sick of reading and hearing it but it’s the truth!

As much as I hate to give my wife credit(Pharm industry) she would say, none of this stuff is regulated. That’s why I always say do your own research.

I’m fighting a bad gout flair up in my casting elbow right now. But that’s a segue for the next topic of getting older.

I trust you. I wanted to see what they have to say about it.

Let us know please!

gout…I know it well…

Alcohol is the #1 kick starter
next high purine meats
I had a gout attack after a big bowl of PHO at a Vietnamese rest. I thought, geez, let me eat healthy, rice noodles, veggies, etc. apparently the beef broth was so high in purines from boiling the beef bones all night it cranked up the gout.

next high uric acid veggies like asparagus, spinach, etc. and others that have oxilates (sp).

Also, be careful with the 5 hr energy or other similar - they contain high levels of taurine and other gout inducing products…same with Energy Drinks - I now never drink them.

I was out fishing and dehydrated and took a 5 hr with an energy drink, thinking, this will help…WRONG !!! within 30 minutes my thumbs swelled up from the gout…

Get your primary to prescribe

Allopurinol - long term
Cholechisine (sp) - immediate relief

If you have a propensity for kidney stones (I have had 4 removed - yes, go up and grab a 7 mm), tea has compounds that stimulate the formation.

I make what I learned in Guatemala many years ago, Cinnamon tea with lemon…

Take a few quarts of water, boil with 5-6 sticks of cinnamon for about 10 minutes…add some honey and lemon…good stuff and cinnamon lowers cholesterol…

Deny it all you want
