Does anyone fish around here?

Okay, gentlemen (and ladies, if we have any) -

We’ve got BBQ, beans, bourbon, bees and skeeters - I’ve seen a lot of posts lately . . .

Does anyone actually fish on this forum? Let’s see some evidence. I don’t care when you caught it, but good gosh, we seem to talk about everything but what we primarily use our skiffs for.

Post up some pics, brag a little, great catches from a long time ago or catches from today - or just tell us you are GOING to go . . .

On a positive note, we all seem to be enjoying learning about one another on a personal level around here - it is kinda cool to see the wide range of common interests beyond the boats and fishing we do. . .

A few catches from the past. Hoping to take my bride for a short trip in the morning. (25 years of marriage as of today).

In fairness, the weather has been a bit tough. I am having withdrawals from a lack of fishing teports though

Planning on a trip this weekend to do some exploring in the greater Corpus Christi area if the wind cooperates.

I tried to go on a dawn patrol but my fuel gremlin got the best of me. Planning on a couple wade trips until the skiff is out of the shop.

In the meantime, here is my personal best, a 50-pound bull caught on a topwater plug out of Oriental, NC, during a Grady-White 230 Coastal boat test. It was one of my favorite assignments ever.

Don’t have a skiff just yet, currently on the hunt for one. But here are some trout from a fly fishing trip a few weeks back with my boys. Caught near Brevard, NC.

Congrats on the milestone anniversary! My wife and I are celebrating 44 years at the end of the month. Surprised she’s put with me that long.

Great shots of the boys. Looks cool on many levels!

@zika and @M.Austin - thanks for the kind words. I definitely married up - she’s an amazing woman. Met her because she knocked on my door in college as a total stranger and asked me to teach her and her boyfriend how to fish. The rest, as they say, is history.

Zika, it’s funny you posted that pic and story - for our anniversary, we’re going up to Oriental in early September and renting a place for a few days to do exactly that. There is nothing like the Neuse river and that is an awesome time of year.

Between the weather and a family crisis I have been unable to get out on the water the past two months. One short trip in the boat a couple of weeks ago and one short wadefishing trip. I’ll do better when the family thing gets resolved.

Thanks! Finally warmed up enough to get out of waders, ha!

Congrats on the big anniversary… here is one from the Wataugu River just north of Valle Crucis.

No I just work on boats and haul my fishing gear around in my truck hoping to get lucky and get to go when the planets align…

I might get to fish Friday with my son.
