Anchor Spikes: DIY and Tips

I’ve added stainless steel tips to my Power-Pole spike and kayak stake-out spikes in the past to protect against splintering from shell and rock. So when I had the new hydraulic PP Pro Series II mounted, I tried to order another one but the previous supplier only carries one size and is slow with fulfillment. Did a Google search and came up with these guys in Marietta, GA instead:

Multiple sizes, good prices and fast shipping. The shipping charge is a little high but combined orders with buddies can reduce that. The photo of the tips shows a gold tint–actual tips are regular brushed nickel stainless. BTW, the 6-foot Pro Series uses a smaller spike so the 5/8-inch tip fits snugly with a little sanding to hold the glue. I use 5200 and tape the tip in place with blue painter’s tape to hold it as the compound sets.

Max Gain also sells fiberglass spikes for DIY anchors.

Your timing is impeccable…I was about to fight through McMaster to find something suitable. Appreciate this.
