Number of angler days spent fishing the Florida Everglades every year, according to the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust
Damn
Dave, there is a decimal error…I can’t see how there at 10MM angler days…10,000,000/365 is about 27K angler days per day?
Maybe recheck the info?
DC
Amazing, right? 9,977,483 estimated number of angling days and number of anglers by location (estimates from the FWS 2006 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife Associated Recreation), as quoted in the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust study The Economic Impact of Recreational Fishing in the Everglades Region.
Too many people
I’m getting 376,936 people fishing the Everglades region which encompasses more than the park in a 12 month span. I see the 10 million number you see but I don’t think that’s an actual number of people fishing, I thinks it’s a calculation of available days fishing calculated from a number of people that fish within a 13 county area.
Granted I glanced at it and haven’t really sat down and read it throughly so I could be completely wrong lol
