Rod blank recommendations

Unfortunately the rod that broke is an old Redington, not a TFO.
I’ve just been infatuated with the A2x for a while and don’t have a Fast 8# on hand.

If you don’t need to travel with it build a 1 pc NFC I’m pretty happy with the 12wt I just finished.

Let me know if you want to throw it

That’s the trick w NFC. Great blanks, but you have to buy them when you don’t need them and when they’re on sale. Takes forever to get them.

One piece does appeal to me actually.

My 12 is a china rod, but it’s got a fast tip and will straight out throw some line. You gotta man handle it a bit, but 100’ shots aren’t all that difficult with it.
It did struggle a lil bit last week throwing into 28mph wind though, as most any rod would. Kinda funny watching the line lay out nice and flat, with a nice tight loop, just to see the fly and Leader fall straight down..lol..

I’d love to throw yours whenever we get a chance to hit the water though. I struggled with a buddies BVK 10wt a few weeks back. I eventually got the hang of it, but he had an intermittent line with a big baitfish pattern on it. Really had to pay attention to the backcast.
Funny how different setups fit us better than others.

Every manufacturer defines power relative to their options. There is no standard.

Make no mistake, the PSI is not mod-fast. It is fast, with a nice tip flex for fast shots from the bow without the need for 30’ of fly line. But it will carry line all day.

North Fork Composites just started a new promo. Most standard blanks are $60, 4-piece air carbon fly blanks are $150.

Appreciate the heads up. I ordered a classic 6# fast, 4pc.
FYI: they are now charging a $10 Federal Excise Tax, and $30 shipping.

That is normal.
