WTB: Project Boat for YouTube Build Series (New Wire Marine)

As some of you may know I work for New Wire Marine, a Charleston, SC based small business specializing in custom marine electrical components like switch panels, dash panels, and wiring assemblies. Since 2010, we’ve built thousands of panels for boaters and OEM’s worldwide — all designed and produced in-house here in North Charleston.

We’re looking to buy a project boat to launch a new YouTube build series. The idea is to take a tired boat and bring it back to life while showcasing our products in real-world use. We’ll film the entire process - electrical upgrades, custom dash and switch panels, new access doors, glove boxes, and more - giving viewers step-by-step inspiration while showing what’s possible with the right gear.

If you’d like to see what we do, check out some of our before & after projects and how-to wiring guides.

What we’re after:

  • Budget: Under $15,000 (less is better)
  • Size/Type: 16-22 ft skiff, bay boat, center console, basically a platform for great project content
  • Condition:
    • Project boat with a solid hull
    • Cosmetic fixer-upper preferred, we specialize in electrical upgrades, not glass work
    • Must include a serviceable trailer
    • Needs a running, serviceable outboard (if motor is questionable, we’d consider as “no motor” at the right price)
    • Light fiberglass/gelcoat refreshing is fine - nothing major

Location:

  • Preferably Lowcountry / Charleston, SC area
  • Willing to travel or meet within a reasonable driving distance
