Virginia Bucketmouth!

After mowing and cleaning up the acreage, time to chase some Bass! The lake fishes well, but it’s murky due to the curly leaf pond weed that surfaces Apr-May. The weed fades away end of May making fishing productive for the rest of the year. You have to hit the clear shores where they ambush the shad and minnows. I noticed I am going to have to cull the otter population though…

Mornings “5 Yamasenko, 3/0 worm hook, two weights one to get deep and one for a slow sink. You can fish any color as long as it’s watermelon w red and silver flakes, :joy:.
Evenings are fly gear only, poppers and shad streamers.

I’ll have to post some pics of fishing on Otter pond here in NH adjacent to Lake Sunapee. Otter is at its deepest 12’. And about 1 mile square. Sunapee on the other hand is 104 feet deep and 23 miles around 9 miles long with a bunch of islands in the middle surrounded by mountains. Otter is about large mouth. Sunapee is Salmon, Lake trout and smallies, big ones but tough to catch
