Time test out NFCs Warranty

While casting yesterday my beloved 6wt snapped. Only thing I can figure is the section worked loose and I didn’t notice it. As you can see in the pic, it broke right at very end of the male ferrule.

I called NFC and had a great conversation with the guy who answered. He was zero help with warranty claim though and directed me to the online warranty claim section on their website. Hopefully they will have better warranty service than the shipping dept, otherwise I may be without it for sometime.

Don’t hold your breath but please let us know! I’m about to replace all the guides on my 8wt NFC Gamma Beta so I can get ready to battle the wind this fall.

Yes that looks like a loose ferrule break! I did that to my sage last year.

I had a good experience with them, they went out of their way to help me out. Shipping still took a while, but they were very helpful.

Not much of update, but.. I did finally get a response from NFC. They emailed a pre paid return label and requested the entire rod be mailed to them. Then said that they would re-ferrule the blank and send it back to me. This response came 5 days after the initial inquiry.

Me being me, I figured I’d try to repair it myself, so I cutoff the broken part which was only about a 1/4”. Reinserted the rubber plug they use, with a dab of epoxy. Then epoxied the section together.

I Fished the rod all day yesterday and it’s a good as it’s ever been. Just a 3 piece now..lol.
