Played guide for the day, a very good friend turns 50 this week, and as a surprise his wife had his childhood friend fly in from OH, as a surprise. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to take the day off so I offered to take him out for the day. The tide forecast was -1.0 but again was far lower. This is the absolute lowest I’ve ever seen here personally, but thankfully I was able to work into my intended area. Unfortunately it was cloudy most of the day, but it didn’t affect the fish at all. Once again the bite was on fire. Immediately within probably his 4th or 5th cast he’s was hooked up on a mid slot red, and it just continued from there. We were blessed with more tailing redfish than I’ve ever seen with my own eyes. Just dozen upon dozens of tailers everywhere. We lost count of the total number of reds he landed, but somewhere in tge neighborhood of 15-20 redfish, all mid slots with largest going 24”. I poles him over to some deeper holes, and he proceeded to land Trout and Flounder to round his slam. Once the tide came in, it came fast and hard and bringing with it, a massive amount grass. Even trying to cast weedless, the grass was wrapping around the main line. Losing the bite on the flats, we ran in the creeks, but again with the amount grass and flow made that pointless as well. By now the wind died down and figured maybe we could hit the deeper water out around the shoals and avoid the heavy currents and grass. I just drifted and casted, shooting the ■■■■, but we caught spainish, pinfish, flounder, catfish ect.. All in all i believe he ended up with 9 species of fish caught today, and An absolute amazing experience for him, being a mid west guy. I personally didn’t fish much, but had just as much fun being able to put him on the fish and as he said, giving him a bucket list trip.

He certainly did. He’s a northern fisher, and with that first red hit, he was hooked. “These guys pull hard” lol.
