My boat currently will go into gear and idle, but won’t accelerate. I thought it was my throttle cable coming disconnected, but it looks like it is actually the piece the throttle cable goes into that is now swinging freely. Tried to upload a video but it didn’t allow the format. Does anyone have any insight on where to reconnect this piece?
Looks like the keyed hole at the center of the lever the cable is connected to goes on the spline shaft at the top of your red circle.
Probably had a snap ring holding it on that came off, or some other dumaflatchi that was combined with the high idle button.
You can usually find a schematic for a binnacle showing all the parts and how they assemble.
What year and model?
2011 tohatsu mfs30b. When I try to look up schematics it’s only showing me a side console option
I appreciate the response man! I’m trying to find the schematics on it but when I look them up it’s only showing me side console options. Mine is a center console. It’s making me wonder if someone did some after market conversions to it. Have no clue what type of binnacle/throttle is on here
Post a pic of the topside of the control box. It doesn’t look like a factory box but I could be wrong.
To make matters worse, I bought the boat with no binnacle cover. The one that’s on there is a spare one that happened to fit
Take a pic with the cover off. It looks like an old style morse box to me.
I think replacing that broken and corroded binnacle with any working non-corroded binnacle is your better option.
Replace it
