TFO Axiom 2x - Sierra sale

A2x’s are on sale for $200 on Sierra for anyone interested. Guess they’re getting phased out with the release of the Moment.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw 10, 11, & 12. No 8s. Bummer.

Looks like they have 5,6,10,11, and 12wt’s available. Now which one would make a better tarpon rod… 11 or 12???

Of course they are since I’ve got a 12wt en route from NFC currently. Otherwise I’d be all over one of these.

The NFC is made in USA…better IMO

I have no doubts.

But at $200 along with TFOs warranty/service, plus the performance of the rod, that’s a fantastic deal.

The 10wt is really a nice casting rod, I have it rigged for tarpon, as my guest rod, and it launches a flats pro 15’ sink tip incredibly well, very balanced. So I imagine the 11 would as well.

I have the 10 as well for false Albies. Great smooth rod for a 10wt. Do you think the 12 would be over kill?

I like a 12 for tarpon as many are deeper water adjacent, large, and make you cast large flies. Not that an 11 won’t work.

12 is also great for beachfront sharks etc.

When I go to FL I go 11.

I’ve got one in a 9wt. Helluva stick.

I have 7,8,10,11 best rod for the buck.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t necessarily in love with mine initially, but what it did do was make me focus on my backcast. It doesn’t leave a lot of room for error. Get all that straightened out and that thing will straight up haul/shoot some line. I agree dollar for dollar, and being backed with an unparalleled warranty, you can’t beat it.

Your experience is identical to mine with the A2X! Less room for error is the best way to put it. But I really like my 7wt.
