Ok maybe some of y’all may know this but I learned this past week that the sound of the alarm tone when you turn the key on will tell you if your battery is getting low.
When you turn on the key and the tone is a steady, one note, starting battery voltage is good. If the tone is a shrill two note tone, battery voltage is low. I almost learned this the hard way way back in the marsh yesterday.
I guess I should add that I have a 2021 Zuke DF60A. Don’t know if it matters. Motor has been flawless for 420 hours. Turns out the battery had a bad cell.
Speaking of bad battery cell. I took the battery to two different places to have to load tested. Both places used the digital battery tester. Both units said the battery was good. I asked if they had the old resistor type load tester but neither did. The second place put the battery on a smart charger and the charger said there was a battery fault. Just something to keep in mind when troubleshooting a possible bad battery.
I just ran down to throw a charger on my battery, charged up in -5 min. Based on your previous I thought “multiple beeps, bad” but my battery seems fine. I’m going to check the amps later.
Thanks for the heads up Jay
Thanks for sharing @jay.bush1434 Glad you made it out the marsh. If those Texas marshes are like Florida’s, the mosquitos and no-see-ums could’ve packed you off.
