Blk/Wte finesse it are different grades of polish.
If it’s not heavily scratched or oxidized start with a med Compound.
As to pads, if you are using a buffer, they absolutely do make a difference. Wool pads cut the heaviest and I rarely used those, unless dealing with a surface I couldn’t justify wet sanding.
Yellow was where’d I generally start, then with each compound change I’d do a pad change as well. Ending with a black egg crate style pad for final polish. Not sure if the pad colors are universal though, so don’t go off that alone.
You can use either the red or green can of corrosionX the difference being the red is the consistency of a light oil and the green being the same combined with an additive so the oil will stick to a surface longer.
Nice boat!
I have a 2008 Lostmen that seems to be in excellent condition. I do have one slight rust stain on the deck where the eye bolt is for the elevated casting platform.
My engine is brand new. It is a Tohatsu 50hp. It just had the 10 hour season.
So far I love the boat despite it being a wet ride.
Don’t overlook trailer maintenance. I had a previous boat that I hated the trailer on. It had the dubious distinction of being the first trailer I had ever blown a hub on and I was a few hundred miles from home.
Also, don’t forget to enjoy the boat. Maintenance is a necessary evil and it is only worth it if you enjoy it first!
Can someone post the correct part numbers for the 3M products? or a guide to the system.. Plan is Med Rubbing Compound followed by finesse it, not sure what to use after those for sealing then waxing. Ill burn that bridge when I cross it.
They changed the bottle color, but this is the stuff I’ve been using for years now:

This wasn’t out last time I purchased stuff, but may be worth a look for a final touch. Anyone use this?
