Looking at that foot, it makes you wonder. For seriously muddy situations, imagine making that bridge significantly wider, but with holes/slots drilled throughout it. On the bottom, a (hard) rubber piece fit into it that would “flap” outward when extracting the pole from the mud, but cover the holes when poling. Basically, get significantly more surface area on the push without the resistance on the pull.

sure somone has already done something like this. I’ve seen the duckfoot concept, but it’s heavy and metal.

Solid, insightful review Capt. Jan. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like it will be a viable addition to the push pole segment with the full launch with different lengths, tips, etc.
