Non skid

I’ve been wanting to apply some type of wax or polish to my non skid but its very course. What do you guys normally use to apply products?

I’ve never tried any of the ceramic products but i apply woody wax to the deck a few times per year. Doesn’t leave it slick if you follow the directions and it seems to make clean up easier for me.

In my experience it does. Ladyfish ■■■■, blood, human🙄 or otherwise cleans it right off. Sometimes with just a hard rinse.

Follow the directions like with everything you’re supposed to do and it works great😎

Nautical one non-skid sealer and protectant.

I used this product for the first time this year, and it has been great. Blood, dirt, etc are easy to remove.
I think it has lasted longer than the deck wax

can you post a link?

yep, I’ve used this one as well…good stuff…I just prefer the woody wax…the only thing to remember, is NOT to use anything that is a degreaser on Wood Wax, like Dawn etc. or it will eat it away…I find it lasts for a few trips and then I re-apply.

What I do is buy a an extra BLUE Shurhold brush and use it only for the WW. Soft Brush, a couple of sprays in various locations and you are good…power rinse it, then hit it with a clean towel…the WW is good for inside the hatch cover as well, you can apply by hand or the brush, wash, then just towel off.

What I do like about the Starbrite is you can just use it over and over on the same surface. It has some very good cleaning compounds, while the WW does not…it’s more of a one in all vs clean deck, they woody, then wash, then towel…I have both, just depends on how I’m feeling and time to apply.

Star brite makes a deck wax as well thats for non-skid. Also super easy. Every few months I clean with the star brite deck cleaner and after final rinse you just spray on the deck wax on the nonskid, brush it in and your done. i can then just pressure wash everything no problem for a while

I have been told by a few people to use woody wax. Sometime ago, I put it on and I guess I just didn’t follow the directions because not only did I slip, a friend who was fishing on the pointy end of the boat slipped and hurt himself pretty good. As soon as I got home, I used dish dishwashing liquid and removed it.

Now I use armor all Ceramic car wash and by far the best cleaning system I’ve ever used. It is never slippery, but it does cause a bead, and any blood or liquids are washed off without a problem.

Yeah first time I used Woodys I almost busted my ass! I still use it but use it appropriately. It does leave a pretty slick surface if applied too heavy but it works as advertised. I apply it maybe a couple times a year, but I don’t fish as much as a lot of you do👍

Griot’s ceramic wash or Armor All Ceramic wash.

Thank you all for the recommendations!

Seems like waxed non-skid would be called “skid”? TJ
