Just got this umbrella in today. Last weekend with 100+ degrees, no wind, and laser beams coming out of the sun got me to thinking…. This is brutal and I need some shade!! The plan is to use it while anchored or under trolling motor to give some relief while not fishing. A little on the pricey side but the build quality and adjustability is top notch. I placed a rubber foot (need a white one) on the bottom to protect my deck. Hope it works!!! ![]()

I hope that rod holder is stout!
I’ve done something similar during scallop season. Nothing fancy but a plain beach umbrella in a rod holder makes a huge difference. Any sorta breeze though and that thing would go airborne ![]()
If the wife’s onboard, I’ll bungee an umbrella to the platform, kinda wedge it between a leg and micropole bracket. Stays put pretty well.
Great share! I’ve done similar with a beach umbrella but the articulation of this looks cool! FYI moved to the Boating section.
Cheers.
I took my boy out to the lake one day. Had the wife’s prized beach umbrella to keep him out of the sun. One small puff came out of nowhere and sent the umbrella flying. Needless to say, it found the bottom of the lake before I could get to it.
learned a lesson that day. Tie it down.
