I have an absolutely gorgeous 10wt for sale. It’s their vintage blue color and it looks incredible.
If you are unaware about Maven they are the hottest rod out right now and everyone is talking about them. The engineer built Americas Cup foil boats before making these rods and are sold direct to consumer from New Zealand.
I have 4 of their rods and absolutely love them. Only reason I am selling is I prefer shorter rods and am moving my rod quiver in that direction.
@oceanrace
Disregard their grain wt recommendation. The rods are designed for AFFTA (true to wt). That 8wt will throw 210g all day long provided you know how to use a fly rod😉
Best of luck with it. These shorties are going to become very popular
If you want to soften it up a touch while painting mangroves, an 8wt GS is 235g. Perfect combo.
Gayleen has joined both forums to read through comments etc and make adjustments to their website info to help with things. Hopefully we’ll see some interaction between Gayleen and Drew on here!
Both Drew and Gayleen, incredibly helpful! I can’t stress how impressed I am with my 10 wt. simply perfect!!
I don’t know if you’ve followed along but these short rods can do everything as well if not better then the 9s do. My 9’rs are now strictly for wading when elevated line is demanded otherwise it’s the shorts. They’re perfect for what I do. They’re incredibly accurate, generate great line speed, offer great loop size control with less effort. I’ve been tossing fly rods around a long time, these Maven shorts are outstanding. I forgot to mention how manageable they are on my skiff.
I just realized I’m on the wrong thread. My apologies as I’m sure Mavens 9’ is just as good!

I get that. I love having two 10wt though. It is my most likely rod to get broken so I always have at least two on the skiff when tarpon fishing. I currently have 4 which is why I’m selling this one.
Also really nice to keep a sinking or intermediate line on one
