Made the jump over here from MS. I live in Wilmington, NC and have really enjoyed connecting with the folks from my area on that site over the years. Thanks to those of you who have gotten this site up and running!
Welcome aboard!
Glad to have you @on_the_fly
I’ve been fishing from a Carolina Skiff JVX 18’ since 2012, and while she’s not a microskiff it’s been a great first boat. Extremely versatile and easy to work on. She rides like a soaking wet bucking bronco, but she’ll get you where you need to go and actually floats really skinny due to the amount of surface area in contact with the water- basically a floating rectangle. I’ve been fortunate to have had many adventures with this boat, from the Florida Keys to the mountains in western NC.
I’d like to have a true micro in the future specifically for fishing flood tides and real skinny creeks. The Ankona Native SUV 17’ has always caught my eye.
Welcome frmo another CS owner. Mine is a 1655 or standard 16. It will give you a beating in chop, for sure!!
