Gladescraft Skiff

I saw this skiff in Choko a couple weeks ago, I was curious about it, so I called the maker, super nice guy and very utilitarian. It has no hatches, primarily a tiller version, and he has a new top for it with gunnels.

He also has a side console version in the works.

Thought I would share another nice craft out there. The link gets you there just ignore the sign in.

Brian Espisito’s boat. Great guy. He’s been making boats for quite a while for no-motor use, etc. And been a guide for a long time. I’m sure he has thought out this design.

I’ve seen that boat a couple times at Choko with the 2 captains chairs looks slick for sure!

It’s a great skiff. Fished out of it a couple times with Eric Herstedt and was impressed, have a buddy that’s gonna hop on board and go with the side console.

Brian Espisito was on Millhouse and talked about building this skiff.

Brian ran an everglades (Harry Spear boat) - https://www.spearboatworks.com/products. The boat is very much inspired from that hull with the major difference I see being the beam at transom narrowing as Brian describes it “make it pole like a canoe”.

Andy Mills had Brian on as well and they talked about the boat a bit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utiDBtWs0tI.

Good looking sled. I’m not a huge fan of the spray rails, same as Harry’s boat, but I certainly understand the need for em.
