For Sale: 2001 Hells Bay Waterman 18: 23 Hours on the Tohatsu! SOLD

OVERVIEW

A “no-frills” hard-core sight fishing machine. Focused purely on performance, the Waterman is a top performing skiff reduced to the essence of what it takes to fish at the highest level. A great boat for everything from the bayous of Louisiana to the mangrove creeks of the Everglades National Park, the Waterman is a refined fishing tool. Chris Morejohn calls the Waterman “the ultimate shallow water fishing skiff for cost”.

  • 2nd Owner, “Barn Find” (selling for a friend who is no longer able to use the boat due to health issues and advanced age; skiff has been sitting undercover in his back yard for the last 3+ years)
  • Hull Number 406
  • 18’ length, 73” beam
  • Guide Green hull with light beige non-skid
  • Light weight, tiller model, no floor with cooler step, drafts about 4”
  • EZ Loader Trailer
  • Heavy Duty rubrail
  • New Maxxis tires
  • New starting battery

  • Compression in each cylinder at or above 200 psi

COCKPIT

  • Tiller model with “coffin box”. Owner does have the “bridge” that can be installed between the port side- and starboard side compartments
  • Comes with a side console that came with the skiff from Hells Bay when manufactured should a new owner wish to convert from the tiller
  • Port side compartments are divided: plumbed live well in front, dry storage in back
  • Moonlite Marine spring hatch holders all in good working condition
  • Starboard side compartment houses the starting battery, battery switch, fuse panel, etc.

WHAT’S NEEDED

  • The fuel tank will be drained, but recommend that it be professionally cleaned before use
  • Suggest all fuel lines from the tank to the motor be replaced
  • The non-skid is in “good” condition, but could stand to be redone (especially inside the coffin box where there is some peeling)
  • There are minor spider cracks in a few spots (at front bulkhead, inside the cockpit and in the bilge area)
  • The under gunnels SeaDek looks fine, but may be degraded
  • The hull is in pristine condition, no oyster rash or other damage, shines bright as new. Suggest it be thoroughly cleaned and re-waxed
  • Trailer needs some hardware (safety chains are rusty, could use a new jack, etc.)

OTHER DETAILS

  • Offered at $36,000
  • Boat is in South Florida and can be seen on appointment; transportation for buyer can be arranged
  • Please DM with any questions
