What pound line do you tie on for the nail knot/loop?

Depends on the wt line and the type of line and even the construction of the line. Lines with a short front taper like a 7wt grand slam I’ll do 50lb or even 60lb fluro. But a 7wt bonefish line I’ll do 40lb my 6wts have 30lb.

It’s pretty amazing how much of a difference it makes with different size flies and conditions
