East Cape…

This just dropped on the East Cape IG…..

Really like what EC is doing and the boats they are building right now. I think simple performance is really taking over the market and that 17 seems to really be fitting the bill.

However, if this is just a hype post of a carbon version of the 17X they are already building I have to admit I’ll be a little disappointed. Feels like it might be similar to all the hype Chittum made around putting hatches on a boat they were already building.

I was a bit confused after they announced the 17x- the website shows a tunnel and a carbon build options, but there is zero info other than that from what I could see.

Guy starts a company with a sick low water pickup that changes the game and all of a sudden everyone tells him all the cool stuff before it drops to the public.

Well, I guess it’s possible ec could be trying to push hard to the Texas market. Chittum did and it seems to be working out. Somebody else maybe @Renegade mentioned it on the prior form, but he said it was like nothing else on the market so if they’ve come up with a new skiff for Laguna madra, that would be interesting, something different than a tunnel or a SCB/flats cat.

They are options. The first X was a carbon boat. Tunnel isn’t finished.

This is the vessel I mentioned in that thread.

I planned to be the owner of the in the picture posted here but my circumstances changed so I went with the 17V.

This thing is slick. What do you guys think of the lines?

hopefully somthing to compete with Yellow Fin in the 40’+ range w/ out steps, bow flare with a spray rail.
spent way so much time looking at the pic, downloaded it and asked Frank to remove the black smudge, lol.
i’m thinking by the distance between the waves its a bigger boat. or you drew an overly sized smug.
