I am only 38 but feel have already had a lifetime of career opportunities.

Started out as a CPA after graduating the citadel. Then joined Army. Over last 7 years I have been a stereotypical “old school doctor”. Some days I would deliver babies, take care of newborns, admit an adult to the hospital then go see a full day of clinic. I absolutely loved the variety and mostly focused on women’s health the last couple of years. However constantly getting called to the hospital at 3AM burned me out.

Now I just moved to Summerville to take a traditional private practice job as a Family Doctor. I will miss delivering and taking care of newborns the most but excited to have my time back.

My hobbies are fishing and cycling. Plan to get into move gravel cycling races in next couple of years.

Before I was a guide, I was a roughneck on drilling rigs for 14 years. Got laid off, started guiding full time.

Did 3 seasons in Alaska as well.

Thanks. I threw the last picture in as a reminder to not text and drive. There was a 15ft disk hooked to that tractor. It slid off the road with chunks of Subaru radiator wedged between the disks

I’m fully retired, so I have quit my day job. I’ve done everything from Church Pastor to truck driver, most recently was housing maintenance manager for public housing. I’ve done about anything that can be done when it comes to housing maintenance and repair. That includes plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, structural and cosmetic repairs. I can’t say I miss 2AM on-call wake up calls for stopped up toilets, unlocking doors for EMS or fire/police, or any other “emergency”

Great thread! Lots of smart and interesting folks on this forum. I’m 36. Graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in biological engineering and have spent the bulk of my professional career in building materials manufacturing, namely asphalt and asphaltic roofing shingles. I’m currently an Asphalt Process Engineer and Ops Supervisor, overseeing our asphalt processing operations and operators at a Plant in Tampa. I’m a blessed man with a beautiful family. Wish there was more time for fishing!..Don’t we all

Work on process control analytics in refining and petrochemical industry. Gas chromatography specialist. Been doing this for the last 40 years. I would dearly love to quit my day job forever. Been there, done that, had way more than enough. Currently at a chemical plant in Houston, makes 1,3 butadiene, poly-isobutylene, various C4 variants including MTBE. Hope to segue into full time fly fishing, art, and photography etc. Get my life back.
