Just returned from my annual trip at a beautiful lake on the Vermont/Canadian Border. Weather was nice, mostly in the upper 70’s. Fishing conditions were just right.
My Buddy and I caught 165 Smallmouths in 3 1/2 days of fishing. 5 inch Yum Dingers on weighted wacky rigs were the most effective. The fish were on rock piles in 1-3 feet of water.
The coloration on these fish is so unique. The Gheenoe performed admirably and was the perfect craft. The public ramp is blocked by a sand bar. We were able to launch the Gheenoe right off the beach at the cabin.
Overall a great trip and already looking forward to next year!
