Many on here may have heard my frustration with boat covers. I can’t count all that I’ve thrown away till I finally started using waterproof tarps from HF. Well mine has sat on the boat all year and it had gotten black and yellow with pollen and mold. So last weekend I decided to clean it. Some 30 second cleaner, bleach and awesome got it looking new. I told my wife it may have been easier to buy a new one
I have a strong hatred for boat covers. Even when they are made specifically for a boat they are still a PITA to put on. Not to mention they always pool full of water and then are mosquito breeding pits or are too heavy to remove. Looks like you found the perfect solution!
My only reservation with waterproof tarps, is breathability. You don’t have yours frogs a$$ tight though so its probably not an issue, but I’ve seen some folks snug em up, and what happens is the moisture in the boat gets trapped and can’t escape, causing all sorts mold/mildew issues.
I just try to keep it tight so water doesn’t pool. But leave to bottom lose
Got an HFT special on mine. There’s enough air flow (and green tree frogs) to keep things from molding up. Couple the tarp with a tube of bungees and you got a $45 boat cover.
