I debated about putting this here or Bragging Spot, but C&L seems like a better fit.
When we bought our retirement home in the Panhandle four years ago, it had a pole barn at the back of the property with three open stalls and one rough finished enclosed. I had to re-frame each bay opening to accept standard garage doors and then extended the middle bay to fit the skiff. One of the bays is now my yard stuff (mowers, tools) and the other has shelves for boat gear, maintenance stuff, boat wash/hose etc. I finished off the enclosed stall, wired the garage door shut, painted, paneled and installed flooring. It is my tackle/fly tying room. It’s so nice to be able to load the skiff the afternoon/evening before a trip so all I have to do is hook up and go. All my tackle/rods are organized and of course I have the obligatory beer fridge, which also doubles for gel coat, caulk and other perishables.
I’ve since added a brick wedge off the gravel in front of the skiff bay (not shown). It helps guide backing into the stall and also serves as a wash rack to keep from making a big mud hole.
Here are some pix. Post up yours for inspiration, ideas, whatever.
Sweet!!
I’ve got my pole barn built, but putting back pennies to get part of it enclosed. Mine will be more working shop than man cave though once finished.
It’s fully filled now. Those pics are from awhile ago. It’s a 125gallon acrylic freshwater African cichlid setup. That’s some fake Texas holey rock in there.
Nice! I’ve got a free 200g acrylic never used that was installed as the wall between the walk-in shower and bedroom in a baller mansion we remodeled. It’s in storage till I get my mancave…someday.
@on_the_fly that boat looks happy. The dark stripes on the console cushion gives it eyes like the boat on Morejohns Anomura build. Anything is better than nothing. I see so many boats sitting out in the weather 365. That’s hard on the equipment.
