Anyone have a stool and a casting platform on their rig at the same time?

I’m torn. My stool cushion from New Moon will be here soon. I’m also finishing up my casting platform. I could put my stool on the hatch lid and the casting platform in front of it on the cap. I’m not in love with putting the stool on the hatch for several reasons. I think I’ll use the stool more , but maybe I could carry the casting platform on the floor and swap them bsck and forth. I dunno.

I had a bit of a similar concern but once it was installed the ability to fish longer with a stool changed my life.

I don’t have a pic of it but my buddy has his emperor stool mounted to the top of a pro trim platform. It’s much more comfortable than a lean bar or cage. Still have room for the bucket in front of you as well. Still has a mounting point for just the stool on the hatch lid if he’s spin fishing or doesn’t need the platform.

I’ll try to get some pics. My casting platform will ultimately have a lean bar on the front. My hatch is far enough up that there won’t be a lot of room to stand in front of the stool. Thus I’m leaning towards the casting platform up front and the stool on the lid.

I have always wanted to design a system that could be both a casting platform and a stool. Seems do-able, if the legs of the stool slid into the top of the casting platform legs. Would be nice to have options!

I just added a deck receiver to my casting platform and a plate underneath it to support the strain from the stool

I have had a casting platform for years, but lately I have been using it less and less. It is so much easier to manage fly line when standing on the deck and I can see the fish pretty darn well from deck level.

That’s a great idea! I thought you were asking if anyone had both, like one forward the other on the hatch and deck. I never thought to place the stool on the platform :+1:.

If I ever find an original casting platform for my Silver King I plan to put a plate on it for a bass chair. That way I can stow it away when not needed.

I like that setup @ElLobo . I think for now the stool will get the nod most of the time. If I can figure a way to take the casting platform along on some days , that would be good. My homemade platform was big enough at one point to do what you did , but I didn’t like how it sat on the bow, so I cut about six inches off of it.

I think that stool is good to go by it self
