One of my favorite Spanish Fly episodes is the one where Jose’s guest has a tarpon on the fly rod. The fish swims through the pilings on a cruise ship dock it looks like. Jose strips down to his skivvies, asks the guy for the rod, jumps in and tells the guy to run the boat around to the other side. Jose swims through the pilings, meets the boat on the other side, hands the guest back the rod and they carry on.
That’s awesome. I’ll have to see if I can dig it up.

I’m wanting to say it was a revolving spool reel, but it’s been a long time since I saw it. But it definitely wasn’t on the fly.
