2025 Fishing Season

Well, my fishing season is over. Went out on the river yesterday and only caught 3 Smallmouths. We’ve already had a number of nights below freezing, so knew this was coming. I’ve had a learning curve since moving from SoFL to Vermont, but fish behavior is consistent. Cover, Food, Current, etc. My Season pretty much only runs June-July-Aug-September. Things really start slowing down in October. Here are my 2025 Catch Numbers:

Smallmouth Bass= 955

Largemouth Bass= 84 Total = 1039

Bass when Friends were in the Kayak or Gheenoe = 485

Already looking forward to June 2026!

Man winter is my favorite time to catch big river smallies. I don’t know if your water freezes over or not. Either way, spring guna be here before you know it

Man, I would call that a great season no matter where you live or how long you are able to fish.

Wow! Would love to come up north to get a taste of that one day. Hope you’ve got the fire wood all cut and stacked!

You’re always welcome! Dartmouth College is in the area, so plenty of accommodations, restaurants, etc. If you are ever in the area, would love to put you on some mean river Smallies.
