Nothing specific here. Mostly posting to grow content In the classics corner. If you have this boat or questions about it, I owned one for about a decade.
Two stroke Yamaha 90, if I understand, correct the hull was originally splashed from a sidewinder ski boat.
This particular boat had some Kevlar in it.
It was originally built for the Miller Brothers in Miami. My father milled the Teak an a gentleman name Robert/Bob Eagan laid the deck.
Yes, the Teak was a pain in the butt. Yes, the teak was hot. Yes, it was pretty.
Ultimately, my father and I sold the boat back to one of the Miller brothers about 30 years after he originally purchased it. Last I heard it was down in the keys not sure where it’s at now.
Beautiful job on the teak cap!! ![]()
Got-dang that’s sharp
Oh man that is one sexy sled ![]()
Man that’s cool!
Work of art right there.
Man that teak looks sick. Cool boat. Hopefully she’s still getting slimed up somewhere!
Beautiful skiff Capt.
I like the teak, but how much weight did it add??
Very cool
Where was this shot taken? Cool pic.
My house, in front of dolphins skiffs, flamingo, and choco
I had the Shipoke, another Sidewinder splash. Was an amazing rough water skiff and well behaved even with big horse power! With a hopped up 2.5lt merc mine would run mid 70’s on a flat sea! Draft with myself and another on board was an honest 12”.
Hall of fameer for sure!
Very cool. I owned a Dolphin SS previously, but it was an ugly step child compared to yours. I’m a sucker for teak.
Yeah it’s down here. I’ve seen it a few times. When I had the BookFace the guy and I were friends and he posted it often.
Caught a lot of fish out of one of those around 1980. 80 hp merc. It was a fast boat from what I remember. Cool pix.
Just saw this. Late response… not sure if it added weight over the glass I believe it was originally designed to have teak laid on top. So I’m sure it added weight over Fiberglass, but perhaps dolphin laid up in deck different than normal, knowing that tea would go on top
